Energy Saving Tip

Life is like a great food buffet. You need only select what you desire, what nurtures you and feeds you, and you can leave the rest. If you don't like brussels sprouts, you don't have to take them. You have the same choices about what you mentally focus on. You don't have to expend energy pushing away what makes you feel bad. Just choose something else.

As Auntie Mame said, "Life is a buffet and most poor suckers are starving to death."

Choose to think about what makes you feel good.

I release RESISTANCE - I am in HARMONY WITH LIFE (from the VITALITY Fl!p Your Thinking Deck).

You Never Know Where The Good Stuff Hides

Mychal Mitchell was sitting at the Termini train station in Rome, her backpack at her feet, when a young boy ran by and snatched it. Her friend chased the boy (to no avail) and she lost her camera, film from the trip, her Walkman, money, plane tickets, passport, and her beloved journal. For the story of how it set her life on a whole new trajectory, and led her to a career that she hadn’t forseen, [click here]. To see the video, [click here].

The major hassle of losing your ID and money, can really tick you off. But Mychal’s story  reminds us to stay open to possibilities.

I have a poor sense of direction and it is easy for me to get lost without a GPS. So when I’m driving and miss a turn or an exit, I assume that there’s something else waiting for me on the journey. Perhaps it’s a better parking place, a new restaurant that I’d have never noticed if I’d taken my usual route, or maybe I stayed in my car long enough to hear something on the radio I would have otherwise missed.

I love it when I’m aware enough to look at each unexpected change in my life’s journey as the beginning of a new adventure. When I resist the change, I tend to suffer. When I stay open and curious, it’s a lot more fun. Even the big losses have their silver lining. Be patient. Stay open.

Micro-Goals (Baby Steps)

It’s not hard to feel overwhelmed these days. You can’t turn on the TV without being bombarded with negativity. And these messages trigger the critical voice inside that says, “I can’t do this. I’ll never make it.” When it feels like you’re staring straight up a mountain, there’s only one thing to do - take a step. It can be a teeny tiny step. And then take another. You can always do something to move forward. Don’t let your mind jump into the future, trying to swallow the whole journey at once. Just take a step. Pretty soon you’ll find your stride, and in the meantime, you’re that much closer to your goal.
